It’s September 26 - and still no stroll in the woods to look at the fall colors. Can’t help wondering what gives.

That song reminds me many , many years ago when a doctor would visit patients in their homes and he would hum that song at there bed side while checking the vital signs.

We used to sing that song in the army. Slightly interpolated…LOL

I am really getting tired of seeing these goofballs in the Sunday strip instead of some Wallets.

    Three consecutive weeks of disappointment.

Maybe that school-bus will be gracing the junkyard by next Sunday!

Maybe Miss Chris will be picking through the junkyard by then, too.

I can’t help wondering what has become of the annual walk in the woods which Walt and Skeezix used to take every fall to look at all of the autumn colors. IF they skip the annual walk in the woods again this year - I think that will be something like three straight years with NO annual walk in the woods. I personally like the school bus story better than last year’s Hallowe’en adventure with Gertie going to the cemetery to look for Walt! At least the school bus story is featuring some members of the Wallet family!

I keep wondering that myself. Especially since you would think it would be a real joy for the artist to be able to work with all of those autumn colors!

Hector, in the Northeast at least, the terms junkyard and salvage yard are synonyms.

Sanford and Son Salvage was a junkyard.

In Pittsburgh, for example, you need a license to buy, sell or deal in “junk”: http://tinyurl.com/3yzahb5

Back in 2007, when I first discovered Gasoline Alley at Go Comics, there were a whole lot of people who posted, sometimes several times per week. I saved some of those strips to My Favorites, mainly because of some of the interesting discussions which people had going. December 21, 2008, for example, had a fairly interesting discussion going. I notice that a LOT of the people who were posting back then are no longer posting. I was wondering if anyone had seen any comments lately from any of the following. It would be great to see some of these folks posting again:

The always erudite and amusing stringmusicianer still posts!

fwdixon was at that time the sock-puppet of a well-known poster who has gone by many names and is still active to this day under one or two different names.

    I miss dypak.

I miss the Sunday strips with Chipper Wallet and his kids sitting on the sofa watching TV together.

I remember reading some posts from Deborah. I wonder why all of those people suddenly stopped posting messages at Go Comics!
