Whenever he tries (he really does!), I end up correcting it (or have to tell him exactly where or how to put it, standing next to him) – and that’s more work than just doing it myself.
This is what men want to hear! Don’t let him get away with it! Showing him how to do it even if you have to show him 20 times will be worth it if he actually learns. If he has to learn something new at work he’ll do it.
I cook, my husband does the cleanup/dishes. And that’s how you stay married for 55 years!!!!! (he also makes the bed and does his own laundry, yard work and cleans the toilets.) And no he’s not for hire!
My husband does the dishes by hand – he likes it and won’t let me do them – FINE with me. I do the laundry and make the bed. We each have our own bathroom which we each keep clean. We’ve only been married 50 years – a great 50 years.
It took me several years to learn that dishes get just as clean if they are put in the dishwasher in a different arrangement from the way I do it. It took me almost as long to learn that things hung up with one clothes pin get just as dry.

You don’t want them in the sink. OK I’ll just leave them on the table and let the food cake on.

And that’s how you get to sleep on the couch.

I do our dishes by hand. If the dishwasher gets used, it is done by the wife. And especially with more elaborate geasy meals, I do appreciate it.

Never complain about the help. Just be grateful!
