Seriously, that teacher should tell Dafne to ask Ryan a direct question instead of snooping around. Maybe, as Bitsy suggests, the teacher is setting Dafne up for a hard-learned lesson.
Playing the part of Kingsbrook Coach Gaston in today’s Milford Masterpiece Theatre is our old friend, Oakwood Coach Tod Andrews. So you’re a scribe from the Milford Trumpet. Well…..Van Auken started walkin’ and I ain’t talkin’.
So, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is the baseball coach at Kingsbrook High? How the mighty have fallen.
You can tell Kingsbrook is one of those fancy private schools. Even the baseball coach wears a tie.
P2, “From the school paper at Milford. We’re no big fancy private school like you guys, why, we can only afford one phone here. Anyway, I was just wondering why a star pitcher like Ryan Van Awkward would leave a fancy-schmancy school like that to come here?”

Coach Gaston should have replied, “And I’m wondering why you don’t ask him. He goes to Milford High now.”

If this were the real world the whole storyline would be appalling and the teacher and student are on the fast track to a massive harassment lawsuit.
