Well, that’s a bit of an anachronism. I don’t think people fretted over counting steps back in the 60s and early 70s. They just got a normal amount of exercise and didn’t eat like pigs. Most kids my age were rail-thin without any extra effort on their part.

My mom counts her steps nowadays. It is her way of exercising. They have an app for that on your phone. (not kidding!)
