Here in India, either there is good stuff on all channels or crap stuff on all channels, so you have to skip something to see one thing on one day, and not see anything at all on the other day.
Let’s say, for argument, that back then and right now there are just 10% good shows on all tv. Then; 3 channels. Now; 500 channels. If you can’t find anything good out of 500 channels, then you are either lying or you’ve just given up.
Now though you can go to the network’s website and catch on your cell phone what you missed the night before, Also DVR what you really want to see, and get the rest online. I do like the fact that the two TVs are different. The artist could just as easily used the same template in both frames.
Now – bad remakes of popular shows from back when; then – stupid laugh tracks. Do they still have them? I don’t watch ‘comedy’ anymore. I don’t watch much of anything these days. I only have about 300 channels.
Some of you are missing out. Ever try Netflix, Amazon Prime, AMC, HBO, etc.? Many of today’s shows have incredible writing and actors, and put movies to shame.
Another cartoonist said that modern antenna and basic cable TV are the post-apocalyptic wasteland left behind by people who can afford Internet access.
178 or more channels where I live, and all of it showing re-runs and cliched content that I have no interest in. I would rather read a good book myself… just saying ;)

There’s still nothing good. Now there’s just several hundred channels of it, instead of just three.

Usually more like …
Then: “There’s nothing good on any of the 4 channels.”
Now: “There’s nothing good on any of the 500 cable channels.”

Parisi obviously has low standards if he thinks there is something good on TV.

I agree with all of the above comments. Pink Floyd’s lyrics from “Nobody Home” (“The Wall”) remain valid except for 13.

Now: There’s still nothing good on TV & it costs a whole lot more!

I think that is reversed. Leave it to Beaver? You could sweeten your coffee with that.

I stream many old tv programs and movies with my Roku. I also have the DirecTV app.
