In high school, my daughter’s classmates couldn’t believe her natural parents were still happily married to each other, either. But BOTH my wife and I had come from broken homes.
All the children in my daughters class have different last names than their parents. Makes it hard for the teachers when greeting parents, they can’t just say "hello Mr./Mrs. students last name. Ugh, why does life have to be so complicated?
My wife and I (married 35 years) felt a little unusual too, when our kids were growing up and we saw all the breakups and such among their friends’ parents.
