I don’t know why people say you don’t use algebra in real life. You use it every time you have to balance your check book, or adjust a recipe (i.e., cut it in half, or double it), or calculate change or figure out what bills and change you need to pay for something, or figure out how much time you have left from now until your next task. Algebra is used everywhere.

Anybody write formulas in an electronic spreadsheet? You’re using algebra.

Those who learn it can write apps that calculate mortgage payments and pay off amounts, and all sorts of other apps that do algebra for the people who don’t think they need it, and the fewer who learn it, the more money is paid to the programmers.

It teaches you to think. Loved algebra, and geometry too.

Only the smart ones will need it. It won’t matter for you.
