His school probably serves real pizza, and not that nasty rectangle with cheese paste on top called “pizza” that they use to serve when I was in elementary school
My school was catered by ARA Services (now Aramark) which was meh (though the rep was nice). They later got a lot of grief for the food served to the athletes at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid NY, and to various prisons.
Looking back, the pizza at the school was horrendous – but it was the most popular meal they served! Lots of kids bought lunch on pizza day. Cardboard covered in glue probably would have tasted as good, but we didn’t know any better.

Have you eaten the barely edible stuff a school cafeteria loosely calls pizza?

Our school’s pizza was pretty good. Most of the lunches were good. Everybody had pizza on pizza day instead of bringing in a lunch.

Loved Pizza day in High School. We had one of the best menus at our school.
