I’ve often suspected that the “sophisticated” pinky point came about because those tea cup handles are not BIG enough for all your fingers! Unlike a nice coffee mug, which I also use for tea, chai, you name it!

The proper way is to grip the handle with your thumb and first two fi gers, while supporting the bottom of the cup with your ring and little fingers.
