Perhaps Tonya Harding didn’t personally injure Nancy Kerrigan, so no trophy. Harding was eventually suspended from skating for “hindering prosecution” in the case.
I’m giving Tonya a pass after all these years. We never knew what a toxic mother she has. Just a couple of weeks ago her rotten to the core mother attacked her own daughter claiming she never abused her. The facts are she did & childhood abuse affects people for a lifetime.
Perhaps the best film about Tonya Harding was the made for Showtime comedy movie “The Attack of the 5’2” Woman," starring and produced by Julie Brown. Not exactly a documentary; names were changed and some incidents exaggerated for comedic effect, but remarkably close to the actual story.
Would Donald Trump be eligible, over the “kneeling” controversy? Regardless of which way one feels about it, the issue was fading away (and no one much cared anymore) until Trump made it political (and it largely became a matter of whether one supported or opposed him!).
Tonya has been vilified for almost 25 years now, so I think it’s time to give it a rest. Also, she’s probably a lot better known today than any of her contemporaries, even the Olympic gold medalists.
Don’t even go there. Tonya had nothing to do with Nancy’s injury. I guess the bias, against working class people, by the media industry is still alive and well. Sorry we can’t all be pretty little princesses.
If the above commenters would watch the news about the gymnastics scandal and coverup by USA gymnastics and MSU athletics, maybe they would realize what a shaft Tonya Harding got back in the early 90’s.

I am greatly looking forward to not seeing the movie about her. She just needs to go away.

With Tonya Harding, like many insecure people, it’s always “All About ME !!”

I think Dr. Nassar is a shoo-in for #SPORTSJERK2017.
