Want to spend an entertaining (and enlightening) couple of hours on the subject of punctuation? Read “Eats, Shoots & Leaves” by Lynne Truss. Thank me later :)
Recently a school zone sign made news when school was spelled S C O H O L . I used to have a picture I took of the same mistake in Ashland, KY. Maybe the spelling has become accepted?

More confusing for the literate minded are errant apostrophes, such as:
The Smith’s Home (The owner is proud of his house; apparently nobody else lives there)
Carrot’s and Pea’s Chicken Breast (This meat brought to you by one carrot and one pea.)
