    Not advocating it, but I’m pretty sure the only time my daughter was put in a diaper during the 13 months she was in a Chinese orphanage was when they took photos of her. They train babies there to go when they’re put upon the seat, and they crawl around au naturel. We put her in disposables from the first day, of course.

    Cloth diapers may use as much energy as disposables, but they don’t end up in landfills by the millions. Both of my kids were raised in cloth diapers. Washing them is no big deal. Just rinse in the toilet, flush, and throw ’em in the washing machine.
