Andy must not know the town’s REAL sites that well. (Not even the football pitch?)

This is Hartlepool, right? I assume most tourists go there to watch them hang a monkey…

Andy’s tour actually sounds more interesting than many typical “tourist” itineraries!

There are such things as pub tours.

No local brewery? He could be a tourist guide there and get paid in beer.

it would depend on the type of tourists. Football hooligans just might like Andy’s tour.

Tourist spots are those that hold a traveller’s interest and not what the local tourism board says you should see. It’s like saying you shouldn’t go to Rome if you don’t like churches.

    (This is a repeat)

A few years ago I was in Dublin and took a tourist bus tour. At each stop at a point of interest (Historical site or Museum) only 3 or 4 people would exit the bus for further info or a tour. (They could board the next bus to continue the city tour) . When the bus reached the Guiness Brewery EVERYBODY got off for the tour, including the driver.

I live in San Francisco. If you want to see the stuff that’s not in the tourist guides, ask a friendly local, like me. First one’s free: Sutro Heights Park, which sits directly above the Cliff House, at the west end of Golden gate Park. It’s a little hard to find, so it’s not usually crowded. The entrance to the parking lot is on the North side of the hill above the Cliff House; just drive up the hill to enjoy the 180° view from Ocean Beach to the Golden Gate Bridge. There are hiking trails from the parking lot along the bluff all the way to the bridge, including some very private little picnic spots, invisible from the trail. Happy camping!

Now do you people see what the “blue head” is that a few days ago you thought was a mistake by the “colourist”?

Notice the obvious problem with this surely ‘fantasy’ Andy Capp strip: the implication is that Andy actually worked! Is this the first time, or can anyone recall another ‘work’-related incident for Mr. Capp?
