Bet the spectator got dowsed and requested Day buy him for a new beer. (Where was that Russian gold originally headed I wonder? Free gold for the Siberians I s’pose.)
Roundabouts are the new thing here in Eastern Washington State. Although they have their good points, there are way too many people who just don’t get it. Even more so when you have two lane roundabout yikes!
France actually has two kinds of ‘roundabout’. The first type, which has been around a long time, for instance around the infamous ‘Place de l’Arc de Triomphe’, gives priority, as usual, to the right, therefore to traffic Entering the roundabout. It was only in 1984 that the French ‘discovered’ the joys of roundabouts that gave priority to traffic already on the roundabout, that is to the left! So in 30/35 years they’ve built (or converted) about 30,000.A much more interesting thing that Ripley should really investigate is “Are there really people who go around counting these things?” It’s far more likely that someone decided that the French had better be better that anyone else in any particular field so invented a random number. Believe it or not.

[Hushed voice of golf announcer] “Jim, that’s a tough chip shot out of the beer cup. He’s going to need about an 87 wedge and a bag of peanuts.”

If you drop 3 tons of gold in my beer, I won’t ask to have the beer replaced.

Being Russia, I’m sure they showed the pilot a lot of sympathy.

I don’t know where they’re getting that number but 3 tons of gold is worth 125 million dollars.

I like roundabouts — no stopping at intersections.

Round-a-bouts are fine IF the driver is smarter than the round-a-bout!

Friggin Wisconsin is building them like crazy. Roundabouts are a crime against God and nature.
Don’t agree. Try entering a double lane version from a cross street during rush hour. Idiot planners fell in love with these monstrosities.

So I thought the UK was built on Roundabouts

It was 172 bars of gold (3.4 tons out of a total of almost 10 tons) and it fell on the runway when the plane was taking off. It was recovered.
