Well, let’s look over that form 4473. Is he the actual buyer of the gun, buying it with his own money? Well, I don’t know how a bear acquires money, other than participating in a bear market, but at least I don’t see him handing the gun off to another bear. So that’s probably OK. Is this bear under indictment for a felony? Doubt it; not really much opportunity to commit crimes out in the woods, though it is possible this bear lives in a den of iniquity. Convicted of a felony? See above; maybe this bear got off with bear-ly a slap on the paw. A fugitive from justice? Again, I doubt it; surely word would get around about a wanted bear coming to town, and a bear would be more than bear-ly recognizable, so the cops would have caught the bear by now. An unlawful user of a controlled substance? Well, you know, there’s those mushrooms, but they grow pretty far south for this sort of bear. A mental defective? Hey, this one’s smarter than the average bear, right? Dishonorable discharge? I doubt the bear was ever in the service, even though a bear like this would have been able to grin and bear it with the best. Court restraining order? This could be possible; papa bears are pretty hard on mama bears, but she’s not out there brandishing the order, so I’ll give him a pass. Convicted of domestic violence? You know, this could be a mama bear with a papa bear out there that’s not going to be just right for very long. So this does look like a case of the right and proper arming of bears!

The guy in green doesn’t look fast enough to get away or hide while the bear is aiming. He should stay out of the woods.

He can buy all the guns he wants, but with no trigger finger and long claws, he is going to have issues firing.

It’s a sport only if both sides know they’re playing.
