I never got to the theaters all that much but I do watch stuff that was on the Late Shows that once were on the schedules after the 11 o’clock news.

And if you want to re-watch the “dogs” try the Grit channel.

I’ll take TCM over the dogs they’re coming out with now.

I was a camp counselor one summer. Music was going over the loudspeakers as I was getting the kids ready to play some game and a Beatles song came on. One kid asked who the group was. Another answered, “oh, that’s The Beatles, Paul McCartney’s old band”.

I prefer to stream movies using a Roku or AppleTV unit.

There have been absolutely nothing decent at the movies for a very long time. Especially during the summer, it’s all kids’ movies and violence movies. Then we wonder why it’s become a violent society!

Oh, yeah? Try turning on a “Golden Oldies”radio station. You know you’re old when you can sing along without missing a lyric. “Sh boom sh boom, yada da da da da da da da da da da…..”

How about seeing your old toys and things in an antique mall.

Just the opposite—watching movies on TCM which I saw as a kid makes me feel YOUNGER! (I saw 7 brides for 7 brothers yesterday on TCM for about the 20th time. I still love it! I’m a lonesome polecat, Oh those sobbin women, that long fight between the 6 brothers and the local guys, etc. Wow!) First time I saw it was when I was a little kid on vacation with my parents in Washington,DC. Ah, memories!

The oldies are far better than the #loser remakes of today. Throwing in a bunch of CGI does not make a movie good.

TCM channel offers an excellent “escape” from what’s offered in today’s market of movies. However, recently the TCM channel has started to repeat some movies which is kind of annoying, what with the huge library of movies they have. I remember the late Robert Osborn saying something to that effect.

So true! But Ziggy, you should be happy that you are still around to watch “classic” movies from your childhood.

Try going to a Video Game exhibit at an art museum and have a 2-year-old kid point to a video clip of Super Mario on SNES and say, “Look daddy! Don’t you have that game on your iPhone?”
