Sometimes firestorms at work make the day fly past. No chance to get bored. The best ones are where you’re so busy and involved that you work through lunch and don’t even notice until it’s time to go home.

Sometimes it’s the little victories that mean so much.

They’ve done away with parking meters where I live. Now you punch your license plate number into a machine, feed in the coins, and someone with cameras mounted all over a car drives around to make sure the license numbers match what’s in the computer.

Finding a meter with time left on it was one of life’s little pleasures. Leaving a meter with time on it for someone else was a way to brighten the day of a stranger. I miss them.

Relish in your blessings while avoiding getting caught in the firestorm. That way everyday can be wonderful and you can actually stay happy.
