Flower must’ve been just wondering by, overheard the dogs’ campfire stories, and wanted to have a listen.
You don’t want to scare a skunk!
Two keys to comedy: timing and knowing your audience (especially if have nose-plugs or not).
Next time Poncho, don’t invite him.
Face it, Poncho! The punchline would have stunk anyway!
I like how the other dogs were all clearly holding their collective breath until they saw that Poncho “got it”.
One night with the family at the drive-in movie, in an old convertible with no top, a skunk wandered up beside the car, looking for food scraps. When he finally meandered away, we exhaled liked the dogs in this strip.
Love the scared look on the skunk’s face in panel 3.
Discretion is the better part of valour. At least around skunks.
There used to be skunks all over this place (Central FL). Haven’t smelled one in twenty years.
Cute.
While it appears the end of the story was a relief for all, let me just say, you DON’T want to scare the ‘anything’ out of a skunk. Okay? Just saying.
Well, that doesn’t stink!
Good save.
I love it too, but why do you have to repeat this same strip every day?
