Back in the 80’s, I was shopping in a supermarket and found myself humming along to a tune on their Muzak system when I realized that it was a “beautiful music” version of the Stones’ “Sympathy For The Devil.” Very surreal.
It’s because people our age is now in charge.I left a bookstore recently because the music was horrible. Something that kept repeating the same chant over and over again. Or perhaps it was a Trump rally.
Kroger/Fry’s plays Aunty’s music on the 1st Weds of the month, aka Senior Day; aisles are full of dancing/singing old people. It’s my choice of shopping day for that very reason.

I hate to say it, Aunty, but…

I hate it when a song is playing I really like and they cut in with “second cashier needed!” or “cleanup on aisle 5!”

Some of the music, I used to rock to, being played over supermarket speakers kind of cheapens it all.

When they start playing rap music, I’ll be ready to go.

I like the music the Meijer’s here in Michigan play. The selection is always upbeat and enjoyable.
