Explain yourself, Lucy. You are positive everything you do is the right thing. But that means THINK you’ve done the right thing, when most of the time you do nothing but damage.

She could be talking about religious wars, although those were less common in the 70’s. Back then it was communism vs. capitalism or dictatorship vs. democracy.

Closely followed by “I was just following orders.”

For once, Lucy has nailed it in one.

Lucy is not being very helpful, but this is still the wisest thing she ever said. And one of my all-time favorite Peanuts quotes.

“For the greater good” comes to mind, but EGO is tops.

I turns out this is one of the finest pieces of wisdom in all Peanuts. Excellent content but terrible “bedside manner”.

Actually, this pertains to things that are not wars…laws passed “for their own good.” Sexual repression, religious control over people’s lives, public and private, “Altruism is the root of all evil.” (Robert Heinlein, though the quote may be slightly inaccurate…quoted from memory.)

I knew that there was 5 cents for Lucy in this story line somewhere!

Lucy could be more compassionate. Charlie has done a fine act and needs to be complimented than given negative comments.
