As a skater myself, it’s a LOT less nerve-racking to do a show than a competition. Additionally, anything with a partner or group helps a lot because you can tell yourself that people are not all staring at YOU, but at others. I used to do duets with my daughter and I always told myself that the audience was looking at HER (little and cute), rather than at me. —— Snoopy really wimped out here. LOL
Snoopy’s greatness is all in his imagination. The difference between Charlie Brown and Snoopy is that Charlie Brown tries to act out his dreams (usually sports related) while Snoopy retreats into his. It only seems as if Snoopy is more successful. And he does sometimes imagine failure- such as Joe Cool striking out and spending a lonely weekend, or the World War One Flying Ace being shot down and lost behind lines.
IF Lucy had skated with Woodstock, she would have won. I can prove this conclusively with order and method…….as long as Hercule Poirot doesn’t butt in!
I feel bad for Lucy. She worked so hard for this, then Snoopy chickened out and left her at the last minute. She was probably devastated and probably feels so if she were abandoned

I always wonder how the kids can know in such detail what’s going on in Snoopy’s head.

Stand your ground, Snoopy – winning would have only gone to her head, and it’s swelled as it is…

Lucy Van Pelt is one of my favorite characters she seems to get the funniest lines.
