If that gas is really green, it’s Chlorine, which is easy to make from household chemicals. That wouldn’t be a mystery chemical, and when it’s Chlorine gas in an enclosed space, everyone is invited to the party. Arsenic green propelled by a gas created when oxygen or light is introduced is green, but ought to be guessed by symptoms. If it’s ricin gas ( are those castor beans?) or dioxin, and the pigment is left over from custom pigment, and the propellant is from acetone mixing with a number of other household chemicals, then you warm up the Mass Spec to see what you have….
Tracy dutifully passes on the latest leads to his (adoptive) son, but Junior is focussed only on how Sparkle is doing. She’s tough; she’s a Tracy! She should survive!
At this point it might actually be possible to track down a suspect—someone connected to all six cases….
Way back in the early 60s, there was a cop show called “The New Breed” which featured state of the art (for that time) police procedure. There was one show where a dog had been poisoned in a neighborhood, but a child had somehow been infected with the poison also. The whole show was about finding the perp so that they could identify the poison in time to save the child. It hasn’t been explicitly stated, but that may be what’s going on here – catch the crook in time to find out what the poison is, and save Sparkle.

Good morning™, fretting husbands !
Sam’s looking his usual self today. Junior looks like a man who is about to lose for the second time. Lizz is still sporting those eyebeam daggers.

Do those eyes light up in the dark? Liz has flashlight eyes. They are eye catching to me.

This is the kind of hard detective work I’d like to see more often.

The women in Junior’s life are remarkably unlucky! (His first girlfriend Model Jones and his first wife Moon Maid both got murdered.)

Sam has astrally projected his neckless, bodiless spirit into the office while his body goes for a quick bathroom break.
