I did that for years, until I realized the solution is to bring an empty popcorn bag, and arrive a little early, so that you can empty the bucket into the bag and return with your refill before the movie starts.
Quite a number of years ago we went to a pro baseball game I had to go to the small room and when I returned my FIL was holding the baseball that had been fouled into MY seat. They say it’s all in the timing.
Growing up in a small town where the movie theater was open only on weekends. Movies cost $.25 if you were under 12 and $.35 over 12. You bought your ticket and then waited in the lobby for the ticket taker to open the snack counter (and while waiting, you used the facilities). When everyone had their snacks, he went upstairs and started the movie. No one bouncing up and down and bumping past to get more snacks or refills—it was great!

I’ve never seen or heard of a place with bottomless popcorn. Maybe at 66, I’m too young.

No sense wasting that “middle-of-the-movie-trip-to-the bathroom” is there?

It’s hard to miss anything in a movie that’s only a re-make of a good one…

Or, in my case I was out at the restroom.
