Marcy’s mother is named Maureen. She is drawn correctly but her colors are off. She is supposed to have white hair and darker skin. She is married to Clayton, the father of 12 boys.
My mother-in-law (who was the best mother-in-law ever) was white. I called her Mom, she introduced me as her daughter. We let people think whatever they wanted.
I absolutely love this one. There are certain sports (hockey) and recreational activities (skiing) that people of color rarely participate in and skiing falls in that category. I will never forget when my Son learned to skate on rollerblades. It was a proud moment for me as a Black Mother.
I loved this but either the colorist forgot to give Marcy’s mom the right color or the writer confused the character with Charlene. Marcy’s mom has the same complexion as Marcy, always had. I guess it was just a mix up

I never realized Marcy’s mom is white. I guess I’ve never seen her before either.

The colorists really blew it today.

Oh, someone forgot to draw her glasses. Unless this is someone new to the strip.

Also, has she changed her hair color?

This strip needs a character flow chart.

Going skiing in the Poconos is not worth the effort.

I have skied in many places but never heard of skiing the Poconos. My experience with them were more “heart” related!

I am starting to believe that the colorists are messing with you, Robb!

LAST MAN STANDING with new middle daughter. Both Molly’s I think. Samantha’s two Darrens, both actors named Dick (York and Sargent?).

The version in the paper is black and white and clearly shows her the same skin color as Marcy.
