Buy the smaller size and hang it up in your bedroom where you will see it every morning when you wake up. That will motivate you to work for it, just as getting a new Ferrari is a great motivator for going out and earning a driver’s license.
Any man who is a veteran of the WCSW ( Women Clothes Shopping Wars ) knows that any question posed by the distaff side is purely rhetorical and should never be answered intelligibly – shoulder shrugs and grunts are sometimes acceptable.
What some do is buy them too small so that they willhave reason to lose the weight and keep it off. That is the nagging point. You must change what you do permanently.

Buy it and hang it up in the skinny side of your closet and next year give it to charity!

Oh, Connie. That statement in Panel 4 may be the punchline, but I think a good friend shouldn’t be laughing that hard at it.

Buy the bigger size so you can wear them now, then if you lose the 10 lbs you can take it in a little. Not hard to do, I do it all the time.

At this point in life, instead of losing inches in weight, I’m losing them in height, Gr-r-r-r-r!

I know it’s part of the humor, but if she bought herself a good bra and quit slumping, she wouldn’t have to lose 10 lbs.

Save your money and treat yourself to the new dress when you have lost the weight.

It’s nice when your friend asks the loaded question but then finds the answer on her own.
