I once fell for the classic where I received a text from my friend saying she couldn’t find her phone and asked if she had left it with me. It didn’t sink in until after I sent her the text saying “sorry, can’t find it”.
I always do a “pat down check” when I get up from an airline seat or restaurant seat to make sure I have the appropriate lumps in my clothing. I always get that sinking feeling when the car is in the shop and my car keys are missing.
My wife did that once while she was driving. She started to panic search her purse and pockets , I asked her what was she looking for. “My keys! I think I left my keys at the house!” I stared at her, and pointed to the cars ignition where , of course, her keys were dangling.

After waking up from a nap, I looked for my glasses; they were on my face.

Don’t panic, just use your search app to find it.

Just follow the cord to your landline. If you hit a wall, follow in the other direction.

Yeah. Listening to music on my phone in the car and panicking that I left my phone at home on the counter because it isn’t in a pocket or the purse.

Hon, where are my glasses? They are on your head sweetheart. Where’s my mind? Sorry, hon, I have no clue there.
