Oh my goodness, that smile. How happy a cat must be, to know they’ve found their forever home and forever person.

Everyone should get a hug from a kitten, and then, whenever possible and responsible, they should take that kitten home with them for life.

Cat’s are interdimensional beings. They believe the laws of physics and gravity do not apply to them. So it comes as a complete surprise when a shelf fails. Obviously the shelf was going to fall already and the cat just happen to be there. It is all covered in Stephen Hawking’s book: A Brief History of Cat. Now a word from our sponsor…

Beatrix is so happy in the first panel and, in the last panel, the woman’s resigned expression is priceless. Lupin is like 5 cats and a small horse.

As I recall, the entire strip originated in the aftermath of a falling shelf incident….the People need to use sturdier wall anchors! ;-)

So the order of seniority is Elvis, Puck, Lupin?

Lupin is just not as a nimble as his namesake.

Poor Lupin, he gets blamed for being a busy cat. I’ve had those kind before. You miss them when they are gone.

Kee-Kee came out this morning, demanding attention. Sweet little kitty. Couldn’t get enough loving, until it was time to hide again. :D

Thank you all for the virtual hugs and well-wishes! My surgery went well, and I am back home in my own bed, with two attentive feline nurses.

I’m grinning almost as big as Beatrix. The first panel is just the sweetest, most heartwarming scene! Then Lupin in all his chaotic, naked glory brings in a good belly laugh!

Speaking for myself, you’d have to pry my fingers off of Beatrix before taking her away.

If Lupin could hear, maybe he’d be less distructive. He probably gets frustrated!

I do own five cats, and … yeah, it’s a trip.

Relatively inconsequential … but well wishes, boops, etc., are requested from the Orb. Today is National Running Day, and in honor of the day, the running-shoe store down the street is hosting a 5K “fun run” this evening. It’s untimed, so unlike most 5Ks, I’m not under the gun to finish in less than an hour. Also, it’s free.

With all that said, this will be my first “competitive” event since my back issues cropped up over the past several months. I feel very strongly that I want to do it, just to remind myself how much fun these things are and why I keep torturing myself with physical therapy, interminable hours on the treadmill, etc. Just send vibes that I’ll be able to finish. And be able to walk tomorrow.

How do all of you wake up so early to comment? (Or are we just in very different time zones?)

That’s so funny! Our family joke is that having one cat is like having 5 and we’re blessed to have 2 of them!

To compute the number of cats in a given household, you have to do the math right:

Apparent number of cats (this is never less than 2, for computational purposes), cubed, over number of humans to the negative power of 2.

For a quick approximation, just figure the humans are outnumbered between two or three to one.

Looks like Lupin has been eating too much Kibble.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA! Lupin cracks me up. He’s so much like my Sammy… who does get yelled at a lot.

I’ll post again late tonight/early tomorrow as I know this is coming late in the day. My heart is so full right now. I’m full of pain and anxiety for my Nushi, and love and hope for her as well. I think our hearts expand with every soul we love to give us room for all that comes with it. I also know that having you all out their supporting us makes it easier. I have true moments of peaceful calm and heart thumping love with my little girl. I KNOW part of the strength that allows that is your help – your purrs, boops, prayers, warm thoughts and positive juju.

Nushi got her 1st shot yesterday. My friend gave it while I held her and we were both shaking like crazy before and after, but did well during. Nushi took it well. Better than we did though we tried not to show it while we were with her. Dozed in the sun for 3 hrs and ate just a bit more than she had earlier. Today….it’s so hard to know though I’m going to try and video log and will start weighing her food before and after so I have more objective evidence…I think her ability to walk is at least the same, if not ever so slightly better. She actually tried to reinforce my ankle this morning. She fell over, but she hadn’t even been trying for the last 4 days. Understand that even if it’s the same, that’s huge. Her deterioration day to day had been as significant as it was heart-breaking. She definitely ate more this morning and was able to make it to the litter box twice (with me getting her to the bathroom as a start).

So I spent my time outside of her care today getting a gofundme campaign set up. I never would have done it without your encouragement and I can’t even tell you how grateful I already am. I will get more pics and videos up on the site soon and will keep you posted. I will take any suggestions for editing or adding to the site.
