Neighborhood committees and HOA’s can go to someplace. After the city came by a few years ago and told us that patio furniture wasn’t allowed in our patio, I’ve become pretty libertarian, bordering on anarchist, concerning yards and home property.
Why bother building a ‘tree?’ It would be easier to build a gazebo-like structure with a kid’s playhouse on top. They could put stairs up to it along one side and have a nice seating area down below. It be be square, rectangular or even hexagonal with a built in bench and table and an outdoor grill/kitchen. Above they could put in smaller benches & a table for the kids and maybe even bunk beds so they could sleep in their ‘treehouse.’ Easier to get a building permit for, too.

wood rots and needs painting. You can study how Disney and major zoos made cement trees. Or you could build a large cement elephant playhouse.

Wait until the neighbors see Adam playing Tarzan. Then they’ll be using the word “Eyebleach”!

I’m so glad I don’t have a “neighborhood committee.”
