Tandem bikes are normally ridden with the biggest rider up front. The general rule given is:
" The person driving the bike (front position) should ideally be the heavier person. This is just a matter of physics — the heavier you are, the more you can affect how much the bike turns. In a pinch, it’s better to have a heavier person who can more readily avoid obstacles."
I don’t know if that is true, but it makes some sense.
This sounds like our year – we normally go on several 4 days trips (nothing on the fancy level that she planned – we go in a tiny RV that is a converted Chevy Express van and go two states away) during the year and a week vacation in August (we are retired and when husband worked his place had a school schedule and most trips were long weekends). Last fall he was not well so we could not travel. The weather has been such this year that for something like 4 or 5 months straight it rained every Friday. We managed to go away for 4 days just before July 4th, but since then the weather has continued to be problem. Trip for this weekend also not made due to heavy storms. It was suppose to be nice mid week this week – but no, now storms coming in again. (We go to outdoor places that are a waste of money if raining and husband says being in the RV in a rain storm is like being in a tin can in the rain.)
My brother was telling of some Mayan or Aztec ruins where you could stand one place and be heard whispering somewhere else hundreds of feet away. Move a couple of feet to the side and you couldn’t. It appears to be intentional.
That’s why school shouldn’t start until the Tuesday after Labor Day and end the Friday before Memorial Day… but the idiots running the show here have too many “professional development days” and other excuses for days off during the school year.

Husband and I never go places, lack of money does not help. For school here in KS started 15th.

Going to southern Mexico in the middle of the summer is not my idea of a good time. Save that for the winter.
