Ah, but jkoskov - Monique is a REAL person (and her real name!) … Lynn said the woman was on a Canadian reality show “Thill of a life time” and her thrill was to meet Lynne and be in the comic. Since Monique was a real librarian, this strip was perfect.
I was like that, only not quite so often. It was back in the day. You’d bring home different books every day, and teachers didn’t put all the assignments online for parents to see back then. It was the kid’s responsibility. Overall, I think that was a good thing.
Like Michael, I got in all sorts of trouble for a couple years, which made no difference… till I got a teacher I liked, and decided I wanted to do it right, at which time I did. I was also a strong (but absent-) minded child!
