Why walk when you have a big strong daddy to hold you above the floor?

Don’t rush it, kid. If you learn to walk, they’ll next expect you learn to talk. Then they’ll send you to school where you’ll learn to sit down and shut up. Plus maths. By the time you’ve learnt that, you’ll be eighteen. Childhood gone, and no more fun ever. Just work while your body falls to pieces with you still in it.

Dangle from your dad’s hands while you still can, and try not to think about the fate that awaits you.

Off Topic, but I need advice from anyone who’s had this problem. One of my older cats (14), a siamese mix, has lost half her body weight in just a couple of months. Her bloodwork is normal, her xrays are so normal they look like anatomical drawings. She had one loose tooth and the vet got that yesterday. She drinks a tiny bit of water but just isn’t interested in eating more than a bite or two of dry food. She won’t even look at wet food. She’s longhaired and had some mats so the vet shaved her and now she looks like a wraith from a cat horror movie. One of the others actually jumped back and ran when she came out of the carrier. i’m afraid she’ll die by starving herself to death. Her behavior is normal otherwise. Any suggestions? The vet is hoping the tooth will make a difference but I doubt it will, her others are sound and she could have eaten around that one. Thanks.

I have two teenagers, both in high school level classes. My daughter goes to public high school by choice and the school is constantly on her about her future…what does she want to do? Where will she go to college? Pick a future…NOW!

This sucks.

My Grandfather made it to 95 and worked passed 70. My Father is 86, and worked past 70. With improvements in healthcare, making it to 100 years old should not be unexpected. Why should a kid at 17 have to decide what she wants to do for the next 50 years? Let kids be kids, for as long as possible.

Alexandria (Alex) loves Art (drawing – sculpture), loves riding horses (dressage), loves computer games (what the hell is Fortnite?)…and high school has her stressed out. So unnecessary.

Mac at 13 knew he wanted to dance classical ballet. That is wonderful, but he is an outlier. I encourage any young person to realize that you will have plenty of time to reinvent yourself a couple of times. Don’t be in such a hurry to grow up.

Well, if the Baby had four (or in the case of Puck, three) equally long legs, this whole “learning to walk” thing would be so much easier. It’s those useless short, front People legs that are messing things up.

I unknowingly helped a friend’s niece take her first steps the first time she met me, when she was about 8 months old. I was with my friend when we went to visit his sister and her family, and I was entertaining myself by watching the little girl play on the floor (her name was Taryn). Taryn crawled over to me and I held out my hand to her. She grabbed it, pulled herself up, and started walking toward me. So I walked around with her for a few steps as she giggled just like the Baby is doing here.

I didn’t realize anything was amiss until I looked up and both her parents were gaping at me. Not only were those the first steps Taryn had taken, she apparently had otherwise displayed a paralyzing fear of most men.

Hello Anne, I’m so sorry that you’re going through this. I don’t want to be alarmist, but is the vet sure it isn’t Feline Infectious Peritonitis? I lost my 12-year-old cat to FIP not long ago, and the circumstances sound similar — drastic weight loss, only able to get down a mouthful or two of food, nothing showing up on the scans. Apparently it’s very tricky to diagnose. I very much hope that isn’t your kitty’s trouble. Best wishes.

Baby is having way too much fun to do anything boring like learning to walk. It looks like Daddy is sharing the fun.
