Very good artwork today with darkness and lightning. This would be appropriate for the Sunday before Halloween so I hope that the strip which appears that day will fit the Halloween spirit at least as well as this one does.
Be that as it all may, logically I know about the lightning and thunder, but that doesn’t stop me from occasionally being a teensy bit frightened by particularly large booms. A few months ago I was sleeping in our living room which has high ceilings and there was a rather nasty storm and the room’s acoustics had me hiding underneath my blanket a bit and yes I am legally and technically an adult.
I remember hearing about thunder being the sound of Henry Hudson and his crew bowling in the hills near the Hudson River. I always enjoyed watching the lightning from the relative safety of our closed-in porch.

Being afraid of thunder is irrational. It’s just noise, it can’t hurt you. Thunder on its own is safe.
Now the lightning that comes BEFORE the thunder on the other hand…

We go by what our parents told us as children: Hard Thunder and Lighting means God is very angry with sinners.

Marigold always has her own unique spin on things. Refreshing to see a different point of view.

Mark Twain was an engineer. “Thunder is good and lightning is impressive, but is Lightning that does the work.”

Luckily that magick energy flowing isn’t also a lightning attractor too.
