Vlad the Impaler (of what is now Romania) didn’t bite people on the neck, he planted sharpened poles in the ground and impales prisoner on them, tens of thousands of them died a painful, slow death. However, he WAS known to dring their blood as well.
Vlad III Țepeș the Impaler, called Vlad Dracula, sometime Voivode of Wallachia, fought against numerous familial, dynastic, and foreign foes, not least the Ottomans, and did indeed impale some of his enemies. But, alas, he was not a vampire….
