We have a forecaster in NYC who makes a big production out 72 °F (22 °C) and sunny.

I am convinced that there is a Nitrous Oxide tank in the storm forecast preparation room. The reports and reporters get more comical and manic as the evening goes on.

Not only do they panic…they get into their cars to do it.

I ran into my “Sky Is Falling” shelter as soon as the reporter said “And here it comes”.

I still remember ~15 years ago when one of Philadelphia’s station’s local news team was on full weather alert when flurries started in the western suburb of King of Prussia. I switched to another channel and found out that Saddam Hussein had just been captured.

The observation that the sky is falling is only the outward symptom that is easily spotted. The real issue is that Reality is crumbling beneath our feet and there is nothing left to hold up the stars.

Used to be snowmaggedon. Now it’s just Alice, Bruce, Charles, etc

Now, it’s PopMediaMageddon.
