I really wish they would start from the beginning and run the series all the way through. The past couple of weeks have been getting ridiculous in their continuity breaks. I mean, it’s not like we have to wait for new strips.
Does anyone know what happened in the “Liberty Meadows Comic Book”? Did Brandy marry that self-involved creep Roger, or did Frank man-up and ask Brandy?
Okay, so the comic came out in 2002…and this is now 2011. For those of us who live out in the woods and bushes and are deprived of the normal symbiosis of civilization and have no access to “comic book stores….will this be continued in tomorrow’s (or at least hopefully next Sunday’s) strip…I mean, it is not like it is some big secret already.
@Leshka: I think they started from the beginning on March 1, 2006. They should all be in the archives. Frank Cho is also apparently running the weekday strips on his website, starting here: http://apesandbabes.com/welcome-to-liberty-meadows/. He has only the first few years up so far, though.
According to Wikipedia, the strip was syndicated from 1997-03-30 – 2001-12-31, so it’s like they stretched things about two or three months here. Still, the original syndicated strips jumped back and forth a bunch, IIRC.
Frank went to Brandy’s and Roger’s wedding, and decided to spill his heart out to Brandy. But, Brandy’s meddling mother intercepts him and sics the groomsmen on him. He’s bound and gagged in a dark room during the wedding ceremony.
When asked by the minister if he takes Brandy for his wife, Roger says yes. When it’s Brandy’s turn, she stutters for quite a while and finally says, “I don’t want to marry you. I’m sorry. Goodbye, Roger.”
She storms out of the church, slamming the door on the way out.
The minister looks over to Roger and calmly states, “No refunds.” [LOL]
When Frank finally escapes his bindings, he stumbles into an empty church – despondent that he was too late to tell Brandy he was in love with her.
He mumbles, “…too late. I’m too late…”
A hand reaches from behind him while speaking his name, “Frank”.
It’s BRANDY!
They embrace each other as Frank lifts Brandy off her feet, their foreheads pressed together, grinning ecstatically.
The ribbon banner underneath them says:
And they lived happily ever after… Or did they?
There’s plenty of story left to tell in the Liberty Meadows Comic Book Series!

Frank Cho published a letter towards the end of the book dated December 17, 2001. It tells about his wife being in labor with their first child as he was writing the letter. He then goes on to state that the Wedding Album comic is just the first part of a big, elaborate finale.
I have yet to read the other comic book issues to find out what that finale actually was (but I’m working on it). There have been rumors of Frank Cho working on Issue #38. But so far, nothing has materialized.

Wonder how they resurrected Alfred Hitchcock to perform the ceremony…?
