Yes, Patty, your teacher WOULD crush even a so called optimist with a D minus, if the "optimist"in question deserved it. Anyway, not every statement on a true or false test is true.

I have actually heard, and agree to a great degree, that true or false tests are among the HARDEST kind of tests; really, it’s SO true. The idea is to read each statement on the test VERY carefully.
