I have a record player, and a collection of records, 45’s and LPs, that go back to the 50’s and a few 40’s. It all works fine. (I also have a working VHS player/recorder).
do you want to listen to my CD while we play 16 bit video-games? of course! well that depends on the music on your CD, but yes, I believe is nice to have the music recorded as a digital file (either red book or mp3), so it does not degrade with time or as you use it, and you listen to it in the same way ten years from now (without more scratches every timer you play it); I also like that my music is stored in hard media so I don’t have to worry about which files do I keep or which ones do I delete, unless I have them stored somewhere else and I can copy and delete them as much as I want.. and the 16 bit videogames (SNES, Genesis/Megadrive, NeoGeo which was supposed to be 24 bits), well that was my favorite era, so of course I want to plat those!

I still have two working 8-track players (recorders, actually), but not in my truck.

For that to work, the kids would need to know what a fax, a walkman, and an 8-track are…by no means a sure thing.

Our Kia has a CD player, I’ve never figured out what the Reverse button does. There are also a skip track and back track buttons.

Whenever I see the Cartoonist’s name, I’m reminded of the old “Nudie Pic” director, Russ Meyer… ☺

Faxing is almost a think of the past with scanning. Scan it and they can have a clear copy in seconds.
