Years ago I frequented a big box store and ended up correcting the blue shirts as they would spread misinformation to other customers. It wasn’t like a job, I just liked browsing the store and would overhear some of the worst advice. I was compelled to correct it.
I was horrified to learn my parents paid their orange shirts an annual fee to maintain their computers and paid for some in-home installations. But my parents were happy, they’ve been extremely patient, and after hearing the work performed, I was like, “huh, that’s just what I would’ve done.”
Definitely a YMMV situation, but I think they’ve really upped their training. In the last 3 months, I’ve gone in there twice to seek their advice.
