I wish we could find someone that cheap to buy my in-laws’ headstone and plot. They both decided they wanted to be cremated and scattered on the farm instead of using the plot and stone they bought 20 years ago. Now there’s a headstone in the cemetery that just has their names and birthdates. I keep telling my husband we should change their names to Methusula on the headstone since it looks like they’re still among the living.
The closer I get to my demise, the less excited I am about the thought of being buried in a box for who knows how long. I’m beginning to lean toward cremation. If you explore findagrave.com many, many celebrities have opted for cremation. Luke Perry did some sort of natural burial, which is burial to promote decomposition – without a coffin of any sort.
My Auntie, when my Uncle passed away, asked the undertaker if there were any leftover or bargain caskets. The undertaker showed her a few cheaper, last year’s models in another room off the main display. She did the right thing…..bought the cheapest.
Sadness that I rarely see happened went my Dad passed. He had 25 years earlier pre-paid all his funeral expenses. When we made arrangements for his burial the undertaker, realizing all costs were covered, wept like a child…..

Hey, he saved you the expense! What I want to know is what the quote is on Norbert’s stone.

I can totally believe it, and I bet I can top it. My old man was literally a legendary tightwad.

Looks like the only cemetery with a volcano for miles around.

Not a totally bad idea, as long as you don’t use White Out™️. I think he sometimes leaves Bleeb out of the drawing, just to mess with us!

And I thought it was a former NSA employee who didn’t want his or their identity known.

Oh, and I’m guessing the flowers are for the former occupant of the headstone.

Was the previous owner not using it anymore?
