True story. I’m heading to the store to get a new bookcase to handle the overflow of books. On the way I stop at the book shop and get three new books.
I have a few of them. Not Dr. Seuss, I hate Dr. Seuss. I have one about a little mouse who’s taking care of his sister and his parents disappear. He rescues them from under a bucket. It sounds creepy, but it’s from the 1960s. I’ll have to look for it now.
“The strangest thing that ever could be”,said Jonathan Wonathan Higgins McGee“is a yellow cat with purple ears,a flouncy, pouncy kind of catwith pointed purple ears. But I’ll never see that!”
“Just the same, my dear, I’m here.”…
Now, how many decades has it been?
Later it was “A Little Princess”, and “The Secret Garden”.

It took me a while, but I found my favorite book when I was a kid. The Ghost on Windy Hill. I found it the library book sale. One of my favorites.

Over the years we have collected ALL of Dr Suess’s oeuvre. Including the Pocket Book of Boners and The Seven Lady Godivas.

I can relate. There are some comic books I regret losing; not for collector’s item nonsense, just for re-reading.
