Years ago I was in a car accident with my older sister. Whenever I tell people about it, I always say that we only suffered a broken leg and chipped ear. That always makes people do a double-take (chipped ear???)…then I explain that the broken leg was my Barbie doll’s, and the chipped ear was my toy horse’s.

When I was a kid I never wanted to go skiing because I honestly thought that I was going to break a leg. I got that idea from all the TV shows and cartoons that always showed people getting broken bones from skiing, and to me it seemed that if you went your had to break a bone like it was a law.
Our 8 year granddaughter ran over our 78 year old friend’s skis as they got up from the ski lift chair. She apparently wanted to go left. Fortunately, they were a little aways from the chair so our friend could manage to get his pole under him and get up.
