" Linus is standing there holding his blanket and sucking his thumb. <br> <br> Charlie Brown looks at Linus as he continues to hold his blanket and suck his thumb with no reply. <br> <br> Charlie Brown says to Linus, "Perhaps you didn't hear me, Linus......I said,..." <br> <br> Linus yells at Charlie Brown causing him to flip through the air, "I HEARD WHAT YOU SAID!!" <br> <br>

Not only does Linus’ silence in Panel 2 mean no, it also is Linus’ way of telling CB, “Just for your insult on my belief in the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, I’ll never speak to you again!” though he does, anyway, at the end.
