My in-laws are great. My mother-in-law after a recent hospital stay (on the mend happily) moved in with us because of mobility problems. She’s great.
I pointed out to someone my mother still “sees” me between the ages of 12-15yrs (and that’s only because I have given her great grandchildren) while MIL has always seen me as an adult. Whether happy or mad at me, I’m always an adult in her eyes. I like that.

My mother told my wife after we got married, if we ever broke up she could stay and i would have to go.
