Charlie Brown is sitting at the table with Linus getting ready to write to his pen pal. Charlie Brown ask Linus, " Have you ever tried to write with a pen, Linus? <br> <br> Charlie Brown turns to Linus and hands him the pen,as he says to Linus. "I've been practicing for a week now, and I think i'm getting better... Here, try it..." <br> <br> Linus Takes the pen and dips it into the ink, as Charlie Brown is saying "Don't be worried if you do poorly at first....You'll probably have the same trouble that I.... " Charlie Brown stops talking as he watches Linus<br> <br> Linus has written in perfect script, 'Dear pen-pal, How are you?' Charlie Brown looks up with a deserting look. <br> <br>

Ballpoint pens existed in 1961, but they were expensive and not too reliable. I didn’t hit school until 1976, and they were finally ubiquitous. I’m not sure what happened in that 15 years to go from inkwell to ballpoints everywhere.

Wow! Nice penmanship! I’m almost 62 and my handwriting isn’t that good.
