And this was before the internet or the History channel, too. Shulz actually had to crack open some books and look this up.

November 3, 1918 was eight days before the official end of the war (November 11, 1918). Snoopy’s nemesis, the Red Baron Manfred von Richthofen, had been dead for almost seven months by then (he died on April 21st 1918).
