That would have been with my Canon xti – 10 megapixel DSLR (since replaced with a 50D with 50% more pixels). I rolled the counter over on that camera taking tons of pictures.
But the lens was the big deal. It’s the Canon 60 mm macro. That lens is amazingly sharp. Can’t find any softness in my shots with the 50D’s 15 megapixels. And the lens isn’t even that expensive for a Canon lens.

Perfect replacement since ladybugs eat aphids.
Here’s a shot I took of a ladybug preying on aphids on a goldenrod plant. It’s a big closeup of insect violence.
