In 1959 four months after we moved into a house the developer started tearing up a large farm a block away for a development. How large a farm? It took them ten years to remove every trace of the farm but the house.

When I was a kid, I always liked new house construction in the neighborhood because it was a great place to play after the workers left.

I moved to a nice quiet home on a golf course just outside of town. The first summer I was there they decided to fix the overpass ½ mile away and spent every morning for weeks driving piles into the ground. You’d swear it was next door. (clang – clang – clang -…)
