Eating blueberries DOES turn you blue…ish (maybe more purple actually). Mostly the lips and fingers, though.

If you turn blue, you can try to convince people that you are a goddess.

Well… if shrimp turns flamingos pinkish…

Buuut… that would mean that I will change go with all the Saltwater Taffy I have been enjoying! ;)

Blueberries may not make you blue, but too many carrots will make you orange. No, this has nothing to do with politics… let’s not go there.

Why not? Eating carrots can turn you orange. (Or is that Cheetos?)

Reminds me of Calvin’s dad. He had a great explanation of why old photos are in black and white. The world used to be black and white, and the old pictures are color photos of the black and white world.

My oldest daughter switched the names of colors around when teaching the younger sister, we only found out, when the teacher told us to have her tested for being completely color blind.

One of the pleasures of raising kids….giving them a gift like this, so they can say, later in life, “My dad says to me…something something something….and I believed him. Unbelievable!”

Dad’s sometimes just have to try one on. Not usually harmful or permanent but a fun memory for the years when they have grown.

On a side note. Eating crustaceans is actually what is thought to make flamingos and roseate spoonbills pink.

I had a humming bird encounter yesterday. Until you have several buzz by you really close, you don’t realize how loud they are when they fly. :)

It depends, how messy an eater are you?

Years ago we took a college student out berry picking for her first time. She ate so much in the field that we asked the farmer to charge us double to remain honest. I can guaranty you she was rather blue that night when all that extra fiber had her stuck in the bathroom.

Oddly, the blue of bird feathers comes from a orangey-brown pigment, thanks to a miracle of refraction in the feather structure. Hard to believe, the blue effect is so intense.

Blackbirds love mahonia berries. I have seen a father instructing his young. Yellow flowers, black berries; yellow beak and legs, black feathers.
