Sliced beef tongue goes great on rye bread with Swiss cheese and mustard. And, my grandmother used to make a casserole out of rice, lamb tongues and tomato sauce that I always liked.
I take it then that “Lengua” is tongue? (I’m too lazy to look it up.)
My parents used to enjoy boiled cow tongue. Fortunately, they never made us kids try it. It looked exactly like what it was, a tongue, complete with taste buds, sitting on the plate. And having seen live cow tongues in action every day in the barn, I had no intention of eating one!

Don’t knock tongue until you’ve tried it. Done correctly, it can be very tender.

My mother wouldn’t say it was tongue…..she would say it was ” Blah Blah “. It didn’t fool us for long.
