I remember reading a science fiction story that mentioned self-driving vehicles which followed sensors embedded in the roads. A person could drive the vehicle which would put out warning signs to indicate to other drivers that the vehicle was being driven manually, but the vehicle would react to a dangerous situation faster than the driver. The book was a small teen magazine printed in 1978 (not sure of the exact date and I hope to find that book I left at my parents’ place).

If I ever get a self driving car, I am going to put one of those six foot stuffed teddy bears in the driver’s seat

Just take a quick look, Broomie…you don’t want to end up swerving off the road!

Why should a witch, a buzzard, and a troll in an old Plymouth be troubled by a dog driving a car (as it seems)?

In New Zealand shelter dogs have been trained to drive Minis. No, really. You could look it up!

I remember years ago a guy getting pulled over and claiming he was training his dog to help him drive as he was going blind.

I am glad to see Broommie is driving a Plymouth. I wonder if she is a member of the Plymouth Club of America,

it is fun, except when you follow the law that says you still have to be ready to take control at all times

I always had a soft spot in my heart for a 57 Plymouth. I took drivers ed in one in 62.
